FormIt - Plug-ins (3D Context Generator)

You may not be aware that FormIt has many plug-ins these days. There are many you can locate at the Autodesk Appstore, mostly free.

Plugins are custom software additions that expand FormIt's core functionality. Plugins can enhance and simplify your 3D modelling workflows in FormIt. Plugins can be used to generate objects, make modifications to existing objects, or extract information about an object. Plugins can also use interfaces to display data and provide controls and inputs directly in the applications, such as Revit. For example, below the 3D Context Generator has been used to create buildings around a brown field site.

3D Context Creator is an easy-to-use plugin that will generate 3D context buildings inside FormIt.

This plugin can help you visualise your project site with its surrounding context and make informed decisions in the early stage of the design process.

This plugin retrieves data from Open Street Map to help transform it into FormIt geometries. The source code for this plugin is available on Github.

To install it, simply enable on the plugin’s toggle from the Plugin manager (on your right in Formit) as you would with any other plugin.
