Toposolids

In Revit 2024 the Model Site panel looks a lot different. Apart from the icons looking different, we no longer create toposurfaces (as in previous releases) but toposolids.

When you select a toposolid, you will see that there is a style applied to it. The generic toposolid shown below has an earth pattern applied to it.

By selecting the toposolid, its appearance or style can be changed in the type selector.

The different toposolids were created by duplicating the original generic toposolid and adding different surface materials in the type properties dialogue box (similar to editing the structure of a floor).  In the examples shown in this blog, we can switch from earth to grass and water.
