FormIt Pro is an intuitive sketching tool for the conceptual design phase. With site context, solar impact and whole building energy analysis tools, users can make informed design decisions anywhere, anytime and early in the design process. Recently FormIt had an update to 2024.1 which introduced some enhancements to its core functions.
These updates include an improvement to the Railing along path tool to support the selection of multiple paths, fixing an issue where Dynamo would not launch from FormIt when Revit 2024.0 was installed on the same system and addressing a problem with the level tool where the edit elevation dialogue was not always opening and show the correct field.
The main improvement, however, was the inclusion of Dynamo 2.18. Dynamo is a visual scripting environment which is also used with other products including Civil 3D and Revit. FormIt uses Dynamo scripts to create such entities as Louvers, Ramps, Stairs, Panels and Railings entities. The 2.18 version adds some additional functionality from the 2.17 version.
Dynamo 2.18 introduces an enhanced set of chart nodes for data visualisation within Dynamo, including Pie and Bar charts, Line and scatter plot nodes.
There is also a language picker to the preferences panel, a reworked Python Editor with an improved user interface and improved consistency with Designscript. It is also possible to customise the Python editor port names and tooltips, with the added benefit of backward compatibility.
Example graphs can be added directly from the documentation browser and there is a new geometry scaling working range button below the navigation controls.
Dynamo 2.18 is also included with the Revit 2024.1 and Civil 3D 2024.1 updates as well. This provides users a consistent experience working with Dynamo scripts across all products within the AEC collection.
