Revit - Controlling the View Boundary

When adding a “View” to a “Sheet”, by default the “View” boundary is not displayed as shown in Figure 1.

However, CAD Standards or personal preference may require the boundary of the “View” to be displayed.

Option 1. If in the “Sheet”, “Activate” the “View” by a right click in the “View”, from the displayed menu select “Active View”, notice all items with the exception of the view contents have now become greyed out. None of these items are now accessible.

On the “View Toolbar” at the bottom of the “View”, select “Show Crop Region”, as shown in Figure 2.

Once selected “Deactivate” the view.

Option 2. Open the required “View” and select the “Show Crop Region” in the “Display Tool Bar” at the bottom of the view.

Option 3. Again, with the “View” active, check the box “Crop Region Visible” in the “Extents” rollout of the “Properties” Panel, as shown in Figure 3.

The end result is shown in Figure 4.

Personally, I think the drawing looks better with the “Crop Region” not displayed.
