When a base view is first placed on a drawing sheet, Inventor uses its properties to populate the title block on that sheet. Only one model can push property data into a title block on a drawing sheet at a time.
If there is more than one model on a sheet, the user cannot select which one to use for the title block information.
For example, I placed a base view of ADSK-014169 first, then added another view of ADSK-018242.
If I delete the ADSK-014169 view, ADSK-018242 will then populate the title block as the only remaining model on the sheet.
This is not ideal as I will lose any work I did on that view (dimensions, annotations etc). Also, if there are more than 2 models it could mean even more work lost by deleting everything else but the view I want to populate the title block.
A better workaround is to move all other views on a different sheet, leaving only ADSK-018242 on my current sheet. The best part is that when views are moved back to the original sheet, their position and annotations will be remembered.
