Fusion without installation
Most Autodesk Fusion users can now work with the software not only as a native application on Windows or macOS, but also directly in a web browser. This browser‑based version lets you open and edit your projects on virtually any device - including Linux machines, tablets, or even smartphones.
Who can access Fusion online
The online environment is available for a wide range of Fusion license types, including:
- Commercial subscribers
- Startup program users
- Flex Token customers
- Product Design & Manufacturing Collection subscribers
- Educational institutions
- Students and teachers
- School IT administrators
Full Fusion functionality in the cloud
If your operating system doesn’t support the desktop version of Fusion, you can still work without limitations. The browser version provides the complete Fusion toolset, including all CAD/CAM/CAE and EDA workspaces, without requiring any installation.
Because the application runs on Autodesk’s cloud infrastructure, your local hardware performance or disk capacity matters far less. The only essential requirement is a stable and sufficiently fast internet connection, as all operations are streamed from the cloud.
Use Fusion on phones, tablets, and lightweight devices
Fusion’s web version makes it easy to switch between devices. You can open your designs on a tablet while traveling or quickly review a model on your phone. All your projects stored in your hubs remain accessible, and your data stays synchronized across devices.
How to open Fusion in a browser
- Sign in to your Autodesk account.
- Click Launch Fusion.
- The browser interface opens with the same tools and features you know from the desktop application.
Limitations
Add‑ons and custom extensions cannot currently be installed in the web environment. This means features such as third‑party utilities (e.g. Job Time Tracker, Gears, Archiver) are not available in the web version.
