To upload a folder full of existing drawings into Vault Professional, the Autoloader is the tool of choice. However, the need for a Vault visualisation file can be easily overlooked if the option to generate one is not selected:

Once the files are in Vault and the View tab is selected no preview is available. While each file can be manually updated to include a visualisation, this could be time consuming.

Using the Vault Professional Job Server, a job can be created to create the missing visualisation files.

  1. Select the folder that holds the drawings or a high-level folder to search for all files missing the required visualisation.
  2. Select the ‘Find’ function to create an advanced search.

  3. Add the File Extension and Visualisation Attachment Properties. Then run the search.

  4. The results will show any drawing files that don’t have a visualisation file attached.
  5. Select all the files or as many as needed:

  6. Within the Find dialogue box select Actions -> Update View -> Queue Update

  7. The files will be sent to the job processor for visualisation file creation without the need for a manual update.
