Autodesk Vault - Labels

A little used feature of Vault is labels. These can be used as a milestone tool to pull together all project information into a package of work.

Labels are created at the folder level and attached to any file in the folder at the point of label creation.

The example folder below has two files already checked in:

Right click the required folder and select New Label.

Give the Label a name and a comment if required:

To view the Label information, select tools menu -> Labels

All the attached labels will be shown:

Selecting the required label will give information about that label, options to pack and go as well as restore are also available.

Selecting Pack and Go will provide a package of work of any files that have the label attached (notice the check in time):

Selecting a different label will provide the package of work at a different check in time:

Selecting the Restore option will move the files attached to the label back to the latest version. Think of this as a review milestone rollback function.

In the example below the first review point files will be moved to the latest version:
