Autodesk Vault has a wealth of information that can be extracted for each file and used to indicate file status etc.

The default view within Vault will show a standard set of property data such as Filename, State Revision etc.

Extra data can be shown by customising the column headers to include the required property data. The downside to this is that this property data is shown for all files and might not be required for certain data. Autodesk Vault can create custom views that can be loaded and unloaded to include only the required property information.

Firstly, select the option to define a custom view:

Select New and provide a name for the view:

Pick the newly created view and select Modify:

Select Fields…

Select the property data that the view should include:

Once done, select OK and close the customisation dialogue boxes.

Now the newly created view is available within the drop down.

Another helpful option is to change the view to thumbnails of the actual models. Select the Layout type to change the view.
