When using the Copy Design feature in Vault you may need to identify that the new design is a copy or a new variant of an old design. To do this, an obvious method is to apply a prefix or a suffix to the new design.

However, if you are making a copy of a copy, you do not want to build a prefix that states “Copy of Copy of …”

Therefore, you may want to build a new variant. To do this you can individually change the file names to add a new variant number, but this can be a long tedious process. However, if you use the find and replace tool, you can search for characters within the current filenames and alter them on mass.
