Vault - Share action rules

Users of Vault Workgroup and Professional can define Action Rules to use with Copy Design. These rules determine file property behaviour when the copy is executed.

These rules can help speed up the copy process – but how can they be shared?

In Vault 2020 (and older) the copy design rules are saved as RuleName.xml  in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Copy Design Rule Sets

When an administrator creates new rules, they need to share these .xml files with all other users and have them place these files in the folder above on their PC.

Starting with Vault 2021, action rules are saved server side. Administrators can turn the rule visibility on or off from the “define” panel in the Copy Design interface.

When migrating from a pre-2021 release, the .xml rules can be transferred to the new version by using the Import tool.
