AutoCAD Electrical 2023 – Creating a 2D Harness Wiring Diagram Connector Symbol

In 2D harness diagrams, the connector pin out representation is usually shown along with a pin out table. The pin out table will show the annotations of the connections defined within the schematic.

It’s really easy to create your own connector specific wiring diagram symbols especially if you have installed the Cadline Localiser (2023 >) as the WD library contains many generic connector table drawings such as the example below:

Download your connector pinout view from the manufacturer’s web site or CAD portals such as TraceParts & Cadenas. E.g.

Combine the appropriate two drawings together in a single new drawing and save as the manufacturers part with a prefix of WD which is purely so that you know it’s a wiring diagram footprint rather than a normal footprint. No additional attributes are needed to the existing ones within the table. It’s useful to add pin information to the connector representation especially if there is a keyway.
