Autodesk Vault 2023 – Gateway

Vault Professional 2023 now gives you remote access to your engineering data while offsite.

The new Vault Professional Gateway gives remote access to the Vault even without a VPN connection, so you can securely access your Vault server from anywhere in the world. All your need is an internet connection.

Once the Vault Gateway has been created, a unique web URL address is created for your Vault and site. You can then use the URL address to access the Vault server.

NOTE: The Autodesk account used for setting up the Gateway must be a Primary or Secondary admin account with a Vault Professional 2023 license.

Your account password must satisfy Vault Gateway's password complexity requirements to sign in, which includes: -

• Passwords must contain eight or more characters, with at least one number and letter.
• The following are valid special characters: !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~

The service is a redirection service over HTTPS and the Vault traffic is rerouted through an Autodesk provided regional data centre. The cloud service interfaces with the vault server, exchanging data between the client and server in real time.

Each user will require an Autodesk Vault Professional license and the Vault Thin Client is not currently supported.

Team members can use the gateway URL to connect to their vault remotely.

All User permissions get setup in the normal way with a strong password.

NOTE:

Vault Gateway doesn't currently support logging in with Windows authentication, and you must gain access through a Vault Autodesk ID or User Account.

With the Vault Professional Server 2023 Gateway, Vault Clients 2022.1 onwards is supported, with a maximum of 3 versions back moving forward.

This is a great, much needed new feature!
