Autodesk has just released the Vault 2023.2 Update (release notes here). Aside from fixes (most of them correcting Vault Client behaviours), this update introduces changes to the Thin Client and adds the ability to use punch tools saved in Vault.
Select Vault to connect to from the login page – previously, the Vault name had to be specified in the Thin Client URL. Users can now select the Vault they need from a drop-down list, and can easily change the Vault after they’ve signed in.
Set default columns – As requested on the Vault Idea Station, Administrators can now enforce the default property headers. If the properties have been selected and the grid view has been configured as needed, the Administrator can ensure that all other users will have the same header configuration when they access the Thin Client.
Search improvements – Users can use multiple criteria when setting up an advanced search, and the search setup can be saved as a bookmark for easier access.
After installing the 2023.2 update on the server, users may need to clear their browser’s cache in order to get the additional features to show up.
Inventor add-in enhancement - insert a Punch Tool from Vault
As with the standard punch tool command, Punch Tool from Vault requires a 2D sketch with at lease one centre point for placement.
