Inventor - Break Out View

The inventor drawing break out view is typically used to detail the inner workings of a design. The view itself has many options to control the depth of field shown.

Each depth option requires a sketch to be placed on the required view, this is used to produce the break out:

From Point

A breakout start point can be selected on any view; the depth dimension is by default the positive direction:

To Sketch

This option requires a second sketch on a direct view to provide the depth dimension:

Through Part

Select the part to effectively remove from the drawing view:

To Hole

The break out termination point can be selected from any supporting view:
